Holly Williams for Art-Sheep
Accomplished photographer, Tim Mantoani, has undertaken a very interesting project: he takes portraits of legendary fellow photographers, along with their most famous pictures. Starting as a spur-of-the-moment shoot of famous lens-men Jim Marshall and Michael Zegaris, this idea evolved into a personal work of great inspiration to the artist.
Mantoani is himself a specialist in advertising photography and, after graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography and a collaboration with well-known photographic educator Dean Collins, he opened his own studio in 1995. The San Diego-based photographer has worked for various popular magazines and companies, such as Sports Illustrated, Newsweek,ESPN The Magazine and Coors Brewing, Coca Cola and EA Sports.
Behind Photographs, Mantoani’s collection of portraits, features, amongst many, Mary Ellen Mark, Elliott Erwitt, Roberto Salas, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Pete Turner and Walter Ioos, proudly displaying their iconic pictures to the public.
