See How The First iPad Designed In 1983 Looked Like

Technology test! When was the first iPad designed?

Wrong answer! Or right, it really depends as it wasn’t called an iPad. It was designed in 1983 and it was called Bashful.

Long before the first iPad stole our hearts and our salaries, an industrial design firm (Frog Design) helped create some early prototypes of tablets for a young and ambitious Steve Jobs. Bashful was a part of the Snow White series that also included prototypes like “the first iPhone”. Referencing the classic fairy-tale Apple used the Snow White industrial design for more than 16 years releasing products from portable computers (Macintosh) to printers.

Even though it never made it to market, Bashful had various editions, including one with an attached keyboard and a floppy-disc drive.
