Jacqueline Lee “Jackie” (Bouvier) Kennedy Onassis born in July 28, 1929, was the First Lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963, as the wife of the 35th President, John F. Kennedy. Later, wife of the Greek shipping magnate and businessman Aristotle Onassis, Jackie was famous for her exquisite style and elegance, as well as her contributions to the arts. Actively involved in the preservation of American cultural heritage, Jackie also has a career as a book editor during the last twenty years of her life. She died in her sleep, after having been diagnosed with a form of cancer, at the age of 64.
