Melissa Faithful for Art-Sheep

Wonderlust is a photography series by Winnipeg-based photographer Sarah Anne Johnson exploring the sexuality of lovers during their most intimate moments. Her subjects are people defined by their desire and lust, as well as their self-doubt and insecurity.

The photographer “casted” friends and acquaintances and turned their love lives into art. After documenting the sexual interactions of these couples, she used ink, paint and glitter to edit the photos, while she also burned and retouched her material, creating a result that turned the emotions and actions of the models into artistic explosions.

Apart from a series of an artistic interest, these photos stand as a symbol to the notion of love and communication between two partners. By editing them, she translates these according to her own interpretation, while keeping the identities and personal lives of her subjects anonymous.
