Jonathan Stone for Art-Sheep
Corpus is the photography project of Japanese photographer Daisuke Yokota. This striking series of work captures naked bodies tangled with each other and caressing one an other, in a way that alters their appearance and confuses the viewer’s perspective.
Yakota’s working process involves multiple shootings of the subjects, material developments and editing, to create this artistic result. By using an analog camera, he produces an effect of human anatomy that either exists but can’t be seen with a naked eye or is portrayed severely transformed.
The lovers depicted in his final work are figures that are brought together through editing. Like two people who lose touch and are brought back together after many years, these models are seen in a moment when their passion and lust took them over and got transferred into Yokota’s photographic lens.
