Meet bitPaintr, an artistic robot that paints portraits using oils, a brush, canvas, and of course, artificial intelligence! According to its creator, Pindar Van Arman, the robot uses a a “high-tech tracing machine” to transfer the image from a tablet to canvas, a process similar to the typical pencil sketching technique many painters use before beginning a work.
Van Arman has started a funding campaign via Kickstarter in order to have his project working and creating soon. So far he has raised 2.550$ out of his 4.800$ goal with 13 days left to go.
