The coolest thing about Tokyo is that you can find various unique an amazing things like themed or strangely decorated restaurants. In Kichijoji, a town in the Tokyo suburbs, a bar-restaurant has the most bright, fun and pop atmosphere due to the work of Kengo Kuma and Associates.
The team designed the spaces of the bar and the restaurant in the most creative way. The small dining space has been decorated with recycled materials, including Ethernet cables, giving the restaurant a fairy tale-y atmosphere. As for the bar, it has been furnished with melted acrylic byproducts that give it a transparent appearance, while a large wall painting by Teruhiko Yumura serves as the artistic background.
This adorable bar-restaurant is located on Harmonica Yokochi, a by-street that has the vibe of a post-World War II black market -although now it probably has a more artistic, funky atmosphere.
