These amazing candles are carved by hand
Artist Natalia Burikov uses wax as her canvas. She hand-dips the candles in multiple layers of colorful wax then carves them into intricate designs. She almost make them look like they are made out of glass due to the stunning designs that appear after she shaves some pieces and twists them. Natalia always dreamed of opening a candle factory and she almost didn’t do it. Thankfully, she found someone to teach her the techniques and how to carve candles.
” The process seemed magical. When i cut my first candle, my heart was beating as if i was running a marathon” Natalia said. Now she owns an Etsy store and sells candles at markets in Tel Aviv. She makes the candles at home with her husband’s help. Together they ship handmade candles all around the world. The candles cost around $30 which is a small price for such a unique piece of art.
