Created by Los Angeles-based artist April Eileen Henry, these little masterpieces show what happens when art meets our existential dread in the form of text messages: from Gustav Klimt and Picasso to Lucian Freud and Edvard Munch, some of the world’s most famous paintings blend with nihilism and darkness, creating a brilliant result.
As the artist says, her aim is “to bring more messages that speak to the pity party line and the seldom spoken sadnesses of life, rather than the alienating positive messages that pervade the internet today.”
