Albert Sagan for Art-Sheep
Australian-based artist Tanya Schultz, who goes by the name Pip & Pop, builds deeply engaging dreamlands using some of the sweetest and fun materials there are, like candy, sugar and glitter dust. Pip & Pop’s tiny worlds remind us of mythical lands made mostly of edible ingredients that usually have as many colours as there are materials and vice versa. The artist’s psychedelic installations, which are made from other materials as well, like beads, figurines and pipe cleaners, have been exhibited all over the globe -Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany, Netherlands and the UK.
Pip & Pop was initially a duo, born in 2007, but since 2011 Schultz has been working on her own, although sometimes she does collaborate with creative companies or other artists in order to build her intricate installations. If you’re after wonderlands where the streets are paved with candy and sugar falls from the sky instead of rain, then Pip & Pop’s work is exactly what you need.
