A love story that reminds one of Hollywood movies, probably because it kind of is, between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall; a love story that began when the two cinema legends met while filming To Have and Have Not, in 1944.
The two actors began an affair while Bogart was still married and after his divorce, they got married on May 21, 1945. At the time, Bacall was 20 years old and Bogart was 46. The wedding ceremony took place in Mansfield, Ohio. According to LIFE magazine, before the ceremony, seven sheriffs kept the crowds away from the couple’s private moment.
Bogart and Bacall were married for 12 years, until his death from cancer in 1957.
