It is hard to hate Canada. You have to be a very cynical person not to love the Great White North. And even if you are, we know, you can’t help yourself sometimes and smile when you see or read something that oozes “Canadianness”. Like people protesting because they are paid too much, like commuters leaving money on the automatic gates because the workers were missing.
And while Canada is not exotic, was never the subject matter of famous poets and writers, like Morocco or France it has to be appreciated for what it is. For it’s amazing health care and educational systems, for their low crime rates etc, etc. But most importantly, for their people. The down-to-earth, clean-your-neighbor’s-yard types. The smiles of the people, their politeness, their open heart, and all those characteristics that make up what we know to be “Canadiannes”.
