“Kirie” translates to “cut picture” from Japanese. It is the art, of paper cutting. The artist uses, but a single piece of white paper, creating images and designs. Then, the artist places the artwork above a black background in order to display the designs of the creation.

It is an artform that requires the steadiness of surgeon and a lot of patience as well.
