Bizarre, explicit and imaginative, Kostis Fokas‘ work is a blend of memories, experiences and thoughts, expressed in a disorderly manner, set under surreal concepts, charged with humor, commentary and a touch of eroticism. The Greek photographer uses his models in a game between them and his camera, allowing them to express themselves in playful ways.
Focusing on the naked body, Fokas sees his working process as a journey to finding himself. His series of nudes are not an erotica collection, they are researches of reality and fantasy, sexuality and one’s self. Influenced by pop culture and conceptual art, the Athens and London-based photographer creates witty images that differ from your “normal” nude photographs.
