Agape Charmani for Art-Sheep
Canadian artist Edith Lebeau is a painter based in Quebec, on the north shore of Montreal. Lebeau’s work is a combination of the real and the surreal, the present and the timeless, with beautiful delicate details giving her work a dream-like feeling.
Focusing on the female mentality, Lebeau paints mostly female figures paired with fauna and flora elements. Influenced by her time in the countryside and her interaction with nature, the artist forms a line of work that mixes reality and fantasy. Drawing from pop culture’s imagery, fairytales and mythology, Lebeau creates a world where young women are goddesses, warriors, witches or just everyday women eating their cereal. The artist has exhibited in Montreal, Berlin, Rome, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York.
