Homecoming and prom are two of the most important activities for high school students in the United States.
For most youngsters, becoming prom queen or king may seem like a pipe dream.
Winning the crown, however, is not simple, especially for those who are not considered traditional candidates.
Nonetheless, some courageous kids in America are making a difference by convincing their schools to rethink their customs.
Zachary Willmore is one of them.
He is Rock Bridge High School’s first-ever male homecoming queen.

Zachary is a varsity cheerleader for the school and has over a million TikTok followers.
He has uploaded videos on the app advocating for changes to the school’s dress code.
The influencer conducted a social media poll to determine if he should pursue the title of homecoming king or queen.
Willmore explained,“They thought queen could look prettier on the sash. “So I chose queen.”
