At first glance, these rooms and scenes seem normal, every day places. If you look closer, though, you will realise that everything in these sets is on a minuscule scale, all creations of extremely skilled artisans from around the world. The impressive miniature sets are part of the Musée Miniature et Cinéma in Lyon, France that contains over 100 of them, along with the hyperreal scenes of master miniaturist and Museum curator Dan Ohlmann. These amazing works are stunningly elaborate and can trick anybody into thinking that they’re life-size. Wow.

More than mere technical achievements, these creations are mirages of their own kind. Their outstanding realism revives one’s memories and exhales a distinct sense of nostalgia. The subtle lighting arrangement, the painstaking replication of old textures, the use of the same original materials, all contribute to the creation of a moving poetry that resonates with each new miniature panorama.”
