Fredrik Raddum is an artist based in Oslo, Norway. His style includes sculpture, installation and performance pieces, while his themes are centered around issues like the relationship between humans and animals, and our co-existence on this earth.
Raddum uses humor and pop reference to discuss these important issues. Creating large-scale sculptures, or mixed media installations, the artist creates a description, a narration or even just an image, commenting on theme the viewer can easily identify with. As it is written on his website, “Raddum popularizes serious themes and embodies them in tragicomic animal and human figures resembling cartoon characters. Clichés and icons are twisted and turned in to new settings. Without obvious display of critical attitude, Raddum’s sculptures drop subtle hints encouraging the viewer to think beyond the initial encounter.”
