Tenzin Gyatso, born Lhamo Dondrub is the 14th and current Dalai Lama, an important monk of the newest school of Tibetan Buddhism. He was born on July 6th, 1935 and has been a big advocate for Tibetans, globally, as well as other important issues, such as peace, women’s rights, the environment and science. In 1989 he received the Nobel Peace Prize.
