Thank you Instagram for showing me the path to Paris-based photographer Valentin Chenaille‘s work! And while I don’t say thank you often, mostly because of my huge ego, this time I did and I totally meant it.
Atmospheric, bright and beautiful, Chenaille’s shots are offering specific views of people, things and ideas. Playing with shapes and colors, the artist captures the models as they interact with objects or just look at the camera. Aesthetics are very important for Chenaille, whose work was once more eerie and romantic and has now progressed, following the era and its needs, into a diary of visual poetry for our generation.
And while there is an essence of a random instinct that has driven the photographer, there is nothing random about the setting and the lighting, as Chenaille has carefully chosen the right background, angle and moment to shoot.
