Sunday is the provocative, yet humorous and enjoyable series by photographer Paul Kooiker, capturing an anonymous nude overweight model posing around in her garden.
Kooiker and his model met in a modeling site and she got his vision from the start. The photographer shot his model taking intensely uncomfortable and unconventional poses in the comfort of her own garden. Looking like a classical sculpture, or a goddess in a Renaissance painting, Kooiker’s model invites the voyeuristic look of the photographer and, later, the viewer, who watch her awkward positions, gushing eroticism.
Her pale skin and contradictory black heels, in front of the floral background create a dreamy imagery, almost surreal and certainly mysterious. Here the model stands as the angelic, untouchable creature, the viewer desires, but will never have.
