Swedish artist Sanna Dullaway has taken a number of historic black and white images and brought them to life by adding color. Dullaway is doing it to promote her business as a photo restorer.

The fascinating results has caught the media’s attention during the last few months and caused a lot of debate.

“Colorization is WRONG”, screamed one commenter on Huffington Post. “It is creating a lie by imposing  an artistic interpretation on historic images. The artist was not there so therefore cannot know what the true colors, shades, and subtleties were.” Another user mocks, “Lincoln wore a blue coat with a brown vest? And who did his makeup, a funeral director?”
