London-based artist Magnhild Kennedy AKA Damselfrau is an impressively talented maskmaker.
Damselfrau’s work uses antique fabrics, traditional embroidery techniques and striking textures and colors to build up her contemporary artifacts, while all of the masks’ materials are either found or second-hand as she likes each element to have its own identity and story.
Every single one of these masks is striking, mysterious and enigmatic. Damselfrau gives life to her creations by photographing them and giving them character by the images she produces.
Her work is eerie, dreadful and fiercely beautiful at the same time.
