Katarzyna Mazur is a Polish documentary photographer based in Berlin. Her award-nominated book ANNA KONDA follows the reality of female fighters Anna Konda and Red Devil, founders of the Female Fight Club Berlin.
Yes, that’s right! Different from the official sport of female wrestling, this Fight Club has no official guidelines, no standard categories and do not demand any fighting style. Challenging each other’s bodies and minds, the fighters meet as equals, using their strength and willpower as tools.
“During my research I came across women who worship their bodies. They nourish, form and thoughen them. Their motivations are as diverse as those women’s personalities are. It may be their statement about the modern perception of women, their proof for the unity of femininity and strength, yet at the same time their instrument to be seen and desired,” she explains on her website.
