Agape Charmani for Art-Sheep
Tina Lugo is an American, New York-based artist. Her work’s bizarre aesthetic and macabre theme is influenced by Japanese artists, Toshio Saeki and Takashi Murakami, who Lugo meets when mixing vivid colors with explicit content.
Discussing eroticism and sexual corruption, the artist explores sex, violence and pleasure. The sexual sadomasochistic expressions and murderous tendencies of her characters shock the viewer who takes a whole moment to understand what he’s seeing. Illustrating a line of bizarre, perverse erotic works, Lugo begins a complex journey of symbols, allegories and hidden meanings, introducing deep desires and fetishes, while through her characters, she brings the viewer closer to his scariest demons.
