Dimitri Tsykalov is Moscow-born, Paris-based artist. In his series Meat, Tsykalov creates some provocative and definitely disturbing images. He photographs both male and female models as they pose wearing meat as clothes, masks and all kind of props. At least that’s what it looks like when first looking at his work.

Upon a closer inspection, the viewer notices how the artist uses the meat in combination with his subjects’ nude bodies. Tsykalov creates guns, bombs and chains out of animal parts. Though its not specified whether the meat is real or not, these controversial images shock the viewer with their content and the commentary. Tsykalov opens a dialogue about violence, war and religious fanaticism and adds more issues to the already intense imagery.
