Casey Weldon is a California-born, Brooklyn-based artist and illustrator whose work is a bright, wonderful look on our reality. Weldon’s iconography is somewhat surreal, yet so easy on the eye and strangely familiar. Through his paintings, he makes the viewer wonder if four-eyed cats exist and whether emoticons are actually real feelings.
Tumbling between fantasy and reality, Weldon depicts a world inspired by yesterday and today’s pop culture while, as it’s stated on his website, he “aims to awaken a feelings of nostalgia within the viewer, though often along with a sense humor, melancholy, and longing for times lost.”
