Jonathan Stone for Art-Sheep
To celebrate Alfred Hitchcock’s 1116th birthday anniversary we’ve gathered a collection of beautiful, backstage photos from Psycho.
Alfred Hitchcock’s all-time-classic is based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Robert Bloch and based loosely on the case of convicted Wisconsin murderer Ed Gein. In the movie, after stealing from her employer’s client, a young secretary goes on the run and checks into a remote motel run by a young man, Norman Bates. The dark motel and the unique relationship this man seems to be having with his mother create the perfect atmosphere for Hitchcock’s masterpiece to be unfold. Leigh’s stunning performance, especially during the horror scenes of the movie, has elevated her as one of the fan-favorite actresses of old Hollywood movies, while the famous shower scenes is still believed to be a delightful shocker for old and new fans of the classic film.
