For a considerable number of young boys and girls their first childhood crushes could be counted among Disney’s classic prince and princesses, and for a good reason,too: all of them have some pretty smoking looks. Nevertheless, however good looking they might be, they are still cartoon characters, right? Here is where artist Jirka Väätäinen comes in, with his amazing realistic renditions of beloved Disney characters.
The Melbourne-based artist, in his new series, uses Photoshop and digital painting for his real-life portraits of male Disney heroes, such as Aladdin, Prince Phillip, Tarzan and many others, creating a collection of amazing, not to mention disconcertingly gorgeous, works. Väätäinen characteristically states about his creations, “Having grown up with a lot of these characters, the sense of nostalgia made it such a fascinating and fun personal project to explore and carry on with”.
