Family Puts Sidewalk Sign Telling People to “Commence Silly Walking” (28 Vids)

We assume you know all about the Monty Python’s sketch about silly walks. We assume everyone is aware of it. If you don’t know about this Ministry, you should google it immediately! It is a hilarious sketch by the comedy troupe, making fun at the inefficiency of government. (Plus the silly walks are “to die for”).

The aforementioned sketch was of course the inspiration for what we are about to see today. A family from Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, decided to bring the “Ministry of Silly Walks” to life, in a way.

They put up a sign on their sidewalk which reads: “You have now entered the jurisdiction of silly walks. Commence silly walking immediately. Follow @Yorkshire_Silly_Walks for highlights. Your walk may be posted! We’re all in this together so let’s have some fun while we can! (Don’t know how to silly walk? Google Monty Python Ministry of Silly Walks for inspiration.)”

Liz Koto, the wife of the family and the one with the inspiration for this project, had this to say: “My husband and I were on a quarantine walk with my kids biking ahead of us and it just sort of came to me. My neighbors seem to love it. Some of them walk by more than once a day and make sure to silly walk”

Isn’t this amazing? Would you silly walk if you came across such sign? What would your silly walk look like?
