After many years of silence Russia’s volcano has woken up and erupted.
A volcano in Russia which was dismissed as inactive in 2017 , have woken up and erupted . Images from space were taken and the results are breathtaking. If you look the picture closely, that smoke reached a certain level and cannot get any higher. That pretty much is where the stratosphere is.
“On the morning of June 22, astronauts shot a photograph of the volcanic plume rising in a narrow column and then spreading out in a part of the plume known as the umbrella region. That is the area where the density of the plume and the surrounding air equalize and the plume stops rising. The ring of clouds at the base of the column appears to be water vapor.” NASA explained.
This volcano does not erupt all that often. Last time it has erupted was back in 1924 and before that in 1778.
