German street artist 1010 is famous for his mesmerizing spray-painted “portals”, in locations all around Germany and the US.
These murals are definitely not your every day street art graffiti. 1010’s illusionistic work would certainly convince even the most sensible viewer into trying walking though them. The artist creates striking layers of color which eventually fade into a dark, chaotic center that frightens, but also intrigues the viewer. He starts working from the inside out, letting his mural develop from the dark center to the brightest shade of color.
The result is truly magnificent and hypnotic! 1010’s murals in contradiction to the flat walls they’re painted on look like portals to magical places, and they certainly attract the attention of any passerby with a vivid imagination.
