Emily Stoneking Knits The Anatomy Of Little Creatures

Anna Randal for Art-Sheep

Who would have though that knitting and animal inwards could look so cute when combined?

Etsy user Emily Stoneking definitely did and her creations are now selling like crazy! Stoneking creates various knitted dissected animals in a series she calls aKNITomy. Including typical science lab specimens like a frog, a mouse, an earthworm and even an alien, her creations are a little paradise for every geek and science nerd and their homes.

Stoneking has been developing the art of knitting since 2001 and according to her website she loves the idea of combining her art with biology. “I love to explore the places where art and science intersect. I am also interested in using cuddly materials (like cozy knitting) to create objects that many people are usually squeamish about.”
