Aurel Schmidt is a New Yorker illustrator. As her work shows and as she jokes on her website, “she’s a very kinky girl, the kind you don’t take home to mother.” Her drawings focus on the human body and often play with the shape and use of its body parts.
In her series Fruits, the artists illustrates different body parts with a lot of humor. Seeing them as fruits and vegetables, Schmidt uses pastel colors and extreme accuracy to blend these very different organisms of nature. Her bizarre mashups are not just delicate and of admirable detail, but they’re also strangely sexual.
