Anthropocentric Drawings And Paintings By Constantine Lianos

Albert Sagan for Art-Sheep

Athens-based Constantine Lianos is an art graduate of Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA), an institute that has produced many great artists, like Giorgio de Chirico, Alekos Fassianos and Nikos Kessanlis. Lianos describes his work as anthropocentric and says that when he paints it feels like he is directing his concerns on the canvas instead of a stage or a film set. He mostly paints in black and white but has lately introduced colour in his work as well, making a leap from monochrome to almost the entire colour palette.

To him, talent needs effort in order to flourish and bring the results an artist has hidden inside his heart and head. To us, it seems like if he keeps working on his evident talent he will produce more works worthy to present.
