Real Indoor Clouds by Berndnaut Smilde

Yes! You heard it right! Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde created real indoor clouds. Time even named this fascinating idea and it’s implementation as one of the Best Inventions of the Year 2012.

What looks like magic, turns out to be a carefully calculated project, made possible due to a particular level of humidity, temperature and even lighting in the space. The surreal sight dissipates shortly after being summoned by using a fog machine, but the fragility of Berndnaut’s creation is exactly what excites the artist: “It’s about the potential of the idea, but in the end it will never function”.
