Sweet Stray Cat Leads Lady to Supermarket – Asks her to Buy him Food

All cats are intelligent. Stray cats, more so. They have to find shelter, defend themselves, evade dogs and other cats and of course find food. Survival is #1 for them and they often have difficult everyday lives. It is without a doubt that this tailless Mexican kitty had a rough life as a stray. Evident by the lack of tail, of course. But maybe he got it’s “happily ever after” after all.

When Tania Lizbeth Santos Coy Tova (nice name), a primary school teacher living in Piedras Negras, Mexico, was walking to her supermarket, she came across this little white fellow. He was quite friendly, she started petting him and the two of them started strolling together walking into the supermarket. From there, it was straight to the pet food aisle, where the selection of the particular bag was made almost immediately.

Not only, the little street cat got food that day, but got food, home, and health care for the rest of its life. The Mexican teacher adopted him! She even named him Conejo, which translates to “Rabbit” – because the kitty has no tale.

“Let me tell you that before Rabbit was very handsome in the photos,” explained the owner in an online interview. “We had to first heal many wounds he had. We do not know if it was due to mistreatment by people or simply because he was in fights with other street animals. He allowed himself to be touched and carried, but his countenance was very sad and fearful all the time, even before he came to our house. We didn’t have any animals, but I think he taught us a great lesson that we must show respect, love, and empathy towards other beings,”
