Best-selling children’s author Mo Willems Is offering drawing tutorials for kids, to help fill their strange new hours

One of the biggest problems right now for a family is the fact that their children can’t go to school due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Homeschooling is not as easy as it seems, therefore various educational resources are popping up, making thousands of parents’ lives way easier.

Mo Willems—a bestselling author and illustrator—has announced that he will be teaching drawing every weekday on YouTube to kids who are now at home. Mo will be having sessions called Lunch Doodles where he will occupy the little ones by doodling together with them.

During the coronavirus outbreak, when children may feel stressed and confused, art may help to make them feel better, Willems said. “You might be isolated,” Willems wrote on the Kennedy Centre’s website, “but you’re not alone. You are an art maker. Let’s make some together.”

He also encourages children to submit questions, which he’ll try to respond to in the videos

The sessions will take place every weekday at 1 p.m. EST

The sessions are about 20 minutes long
