Anna Randal for Art-Sheep

Apart from their unique personalities and extravagant lives, most of artists shared a common passion, the passion for cats.

Alison Nastasia gathered for the first time, a collection of behind-the scenes stories of more than 50 famous artists and their furry friends. The compilation is all included in a book titled, Artists and Their Cats, and it captures many and various artist-cat relationships, in charming photographs and engaging text. These photographs beautifully reveal how an artistic soul and a lonely, independent spirit can create a strong bond between them. Looking through these pictures one can notice the softer side of many famous artists, while their feline friends  seem to mirror their owners’ mood and attitude.
