Neftali Ricardo Reyes Basoalto or as he was better known, Pablo Neruda (1904-1973) was a Chilean poet and politician, who was awarded with the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. Neruda’s most notable works include love poems defined by their strong eroticism, often explicitly expressed, such as Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair, as well as surrealist and historical pieces and political manifestos. The poet first became famous for his work at the age of 10.
