Edy Hardjo photographs toys of superheroes and proves that they are not a treat just for kids. Adults can still indulge ourselves into the joy of toys. His funny portrayal of some of our favourite superheroes is expertly delivered through the use of detailed, high-quality action figures.
The photographer arranges the toys into their amusing and sometimes embarrassing positions using stands to prop them. Once the photograph is shot he then removes the stands and some of the more obvious joints with the use of Photoshop, this way making them appear more realistic.
Hardjo, who took up photography as a hobby and does an excellent job, as a matter of fact, said in an interview that he uses his daily experience as a source for ideas. “All I do is replace the ‘usual’ thing with the ‘unusual.’”
