Bong Joon-ho explodes right out of the gate with his English language debut, crafting a memorable sci-fi film and imbuing it with loaded social commentary. There’s always been a clear line of divide between the 99% and 1% but what happens when that line is blurred and we are forced to adapt in a world of gray?

Chris Evans gives one of his best performances of his young career and he’s ably supported by a strong supporting cast (Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, John Hurt, Ewen Bremner, Ed Harris, Song Kang-ho and a scene-stealing Tilda Swinton). The action is well choreographed, and pretty damn impressive seeing as the whole film takes place in a cramped train.
