Anna Randal for Art-Sheep

Oregon-based artist Natalie Fletcher is famous for her mind-blowing body painting that leaves the viewer doubting his vision and perception.

In her latest project, she got inspired by her state’s natural and organic beauty and created a series of photographs with people blending in the scenery. Using ordinary people as her canvas, Fletcher camouflages her models in the surrounding landscape and creates beautiful illusions that confuse the viewer regarding the nature of her art.

The artist paints her subjects’ bodies so that they mimic elements from the place, without disrupting its horizon line. If it weren’t for some of her subjects’ body parts, Fletcher’s work could be easily perceived as a collage of things or just photographs edited on Photoshop. Her exceptional painting, positioning and shooting make it hard for the viewer to find where the cloaked person stands.

Natalie Fletcher is currently traveling the United States and photographs two people in every state, as part of her 100 Bodies Across America project.
