Luigi Tarini is an Italian artist located in Krakow. After hitting the web with viral series like “Obama and Merkel Starring in Movies” and “Horror Icons in Lighthearted Movies”, this time Luigi delights our imagination with a collection of mashups inspired by classic Hollywood stars and famous paintings.
The idea is as simple as original: place two faces together and fuse painting and picture in one single, astonishing new face.
“It all started when I wanted to put Clint Eastwood’s face on a Van Gogh self-portrait. I wasn’t too happy with the result and so I tried mashing up the two faces. Keeping Clint’s unmistakable eyes, with Van Gogh’s nose and unmistakable art style. The result was puzzling and awesome: it really looked the two things were always meant to be together.”
The collection includes a curious collage of Mona Lisa with Marylin Monroe and the surprising result of Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh mashing up with Hayez’s painting The Kiss.
