Agape Charmani for Art-Sheep

Robert Gligorov‘s work can be described with many words. Others find it provocative, others brilliant, others queer or peculiar, while others could describe it by using all the above words.

Presenting a body of work of optical illusions, collages and distorted images, Gligorov seems to be exploring the world from a very different perspective. The artist uses all kinds of combinations between humans and nature, to comment on social, political and even environmental issues. His work both creates and deconstructs worlds of surreal states, and allows the viewer to see through his own, “filtered” eyes. Offering a point of view one would never dare to adopt, Gligorov’s works function as if they expose our deepest thoughts and illogical fantasies.

The relationships and interactions between society and its subjects are here perverted, while our task as spectators, is to explore how these alterations can affect our perception and interpretation of the world. The artist’s irony intertwines with his clever metaphors, allowing us to understand that through his work, Gligorov is exaggerating, to simply prove his point.
