ICED-FLOWERS-1

Agape Charmani for Art-Sheep

Makoto Azuma is a botanic artist who sees still life as something indeed still and definitely alive. In his exhibition “Iced Flowers,” Azuma explores how the process of flowers’ life changes when they are locked in ice.

This combination between flowers and ice make the flowers express, grow and develop uniquely differently than while they are found under natural circumstances. The space the artist created for them is a special environment that creates a vivid contrast between the the bright flowers and the cold ice.

Azuma experiments with ice and the way it perseveres and showcases the flower installations, forming purely beautiful pillars of still, frozen life.
