Anna Randal for Art-Sheep

Eating human flesh is cannibalism for everyone except culinary artist Annabel de Vetten, who thought that combining brains with chocolate would result to a series of delicious creations. For her online catering platform Conjurer’s Kitchen she creates various freaky dishes, while her costumers can order their own inspirations.

The German-born, UK-bases artist, who was trained in fine art and taxidermy, found her calling in the business of the odd and the gruesome. Inspired by horror movies and alternative art, her detailed work is especially popular in the death-positive community, while her imaginative creations and the uniqueness of their themes have led to collaborations with institutes like the Barbican Museum.

“You get that little thrill of eating something your eyes tell you not to, but your nose and taste buds urge to devour,” explains the artist. “German being such a descriptive language…’wake’ is literally translated to ‘corpse feast’,” she told Vice discussing the ritualistic feature of her work.
