Hacking itself is not unethical, it depends on the way a person uses it. Hacking, on one hand, has been useful to deal with the vulnerability of a computer system or a network while on the other hand can aid in stealing important information. Apart from this serious stuff, you can also hack into a tram track for enjoying a self-made ride. Like this guy!
Tomáš Moravec from Slovakia hacked into tram lines to glide his wooden ride on the tracks. Yes, the ride was made of wood. He basically fixed four wheels below a wooden pallet; the design was as simple as that. This is not the first design from the Slovakian artist. He has created many works of sculpture, installation and video art including hisDuchamp-meets-Alÿs piece from 2008.
Trams are a practical mode of transportation in certain cities around the world. The city of Slovakia, Bratislava, has criss-crossing 1000 mm wide tracks running all over the city. A brief description of this new vehicle was given as
“A new transport vehicle brings change into the spatial perspective of a passenger in motion and generally changes the life of the city, through which the pallet can run, guided by a map of the city lines.”
Tomáš rolled down his wooden pallet on tram tracks around the city. We are not sure what type of hacker Tomáš Moravec will be but his hacking did not harm anyone.
These wooden pallets can be used anywhere around the world. However, we cannot say how safe this vehicle can be for public use.
